About

Inviting quiet contemplation, my landscape paintings present a space for reflection. Often depicting the last light of the day they offer a sense of belonging and protection. They affirm our place in an otherwise complicated world. I am inviting everyone to reflect on what landscape means to us.

Born in Hastings in 1978, Verity spent her childhood in Bedfordshire and Devon and now lives in Bath travelling often to the Scottish Borders. She completed her degree in Fine Art at Bath Spa University in 2000.

Verity works in her Wiltshire studio and outdoors.  Time spent travelling from place to place informs her work with sketches and photographs being made en route. She takes inspiration from Scottish painter Joan Eardley’s dedication to plein-aire painting and admires the work of Brita Granström, Richard Long, Ivon Hitchens and the writing of Robert MacFarlane.
